Electrical Engineer

The Zophia Wind Farm is a combination of green energy, community well-being, and environmental protection. It is located in the southern part of Ukraine in the Yakimivka District of the Zaporizhia region and will start construction of Zophia I and II in July 2021 representing 337.5 MW. Once built and operated, it will produce about 1.25 GWh of electricity, enough to power over 627,000 Ukrainian households. In the future, it can be a 788 MW high impact project with a load factor of +42%.

Emergy – Sustainable Stories, is a Norway-based company that develops, operates and owns large-scale wind farms in South-East Europe. Emergy has ambitious goals when it comes to renewable power, and aims to have 2 GW of wind projects in operations by 2025. Electrical Engineer Profile

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Electrical and Grid Connection Manager in the management of all electro and automation related scope of the Zophia wind power plant project: substation, all cabling (the transformers and cabling in the WTGs will be managed by the WTG project manager), fiber optic lines, automation and control systems, grid connection, administration building.

This position is based in Zaporizhia region of southern Ukraine

 

Electrical Engineer Job Duties:

  • Support Management with the contractor communication for all electrical scope related aspects
  • Assist in management and oversight of Grid Connection Agreements and the respective grid operators and their scope
  • Check that all electrical contract deliveries are provided on time and as described in the scope of work
  • Support the development and implementation of Contract Management Plans for the contractors for Electro and automation
  • Ensure that the entire scope of work of all contractors for Electro and automation is delivered
  • Support and monitor the interface between the different contractors
  • Verify contractors’ formal acceptances of deliveries from subcontractors
  • Run a daily log of events that may be relevant for contractual discussions and disputes later
  • Review the reports to lenders from the electro and automation relevant issues
  • Ensure that the Basis for Design is adhered to in full
  • Support the approval of the suppliers’ quality plans
  • Verify all contractor deliveries meets the quality specifications (approved for factory release, undamaged, necessary documentation etc.)
  • Support the approval of milestone deliveries
  • Support the implementation and follow-up of appropriate risk management for Electro and automation scopes
  • Review the risks identified by the subcontractors and implement in the project register if relevant
  • Evaluate the consequences of risks on cost and plan (consequence for activities)

 

Electrical Engineer Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience from other power production plants, ideally wind power plants
  • Experience with an international EPC contractor
  • Knowledge of both international and Ukrainian relevant standards
  • Motivated individual with good communication skills for team working, yet self-sufficient
  • Working language: English and Ukrainian
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures
